"The Girls Want To Be With The Girls" by Talking Heads
This song is from the first Brian Eno produced album of the Talking Heads. It seems to be about the difficulties of love between the cisgendered sexes.
I started taking an Astrology course this week and learned more about the houses while reading books recommended by the astrologer.
It’s crazy, I have only one planet, a Virgo Moon, in the seventh house, which is the house of marriage and business partnerships.
And my soon-to-be-ex-wife is a Virgo Sun.
Girls don't want to play like that
Just want to talk to the boys
Just want to do what's in their hearts
And the girls want to be with the girls
And the boys say, "What do you mean?"
And the boys say, "What do you mean?"
Well, there's just no love
When there's boys and girls
And the girls want to be with the girls
Girls want to be with the girls
As well, I learned that she has as the only planet in her seventh house, an Aries Jupiter.
And I am an Aries Sun.
Girls want things that make common sense
The best for all concerned
Don't want to have to go out of their way
And the girls want to be with the girls
Girls are getting into abstract analysis
Would like to make that intuitive leap
They're making plans that have far-reaching effects
And the girls want to be with the girls
In terms of business partnerships, my three writing partnerships were all with Virgo Suns as well.
And my new graphic novel illustrator partner is a Virgo Sun, too.
What does it mean?
And the boys say, "What do you mean?"
And the boys say, "What do you mean?"
Well, there's just no love
When there's boys and girls
And the girls want to be with the girls
Yes, the girls want to be with the girls
Watch when they go
I had the Indonesian take-out dinner with my soon-to-be-ex-wife last night.
And it was very fun, but also pretty emotional afterward.
I had a lot of longing in my heart and had trouble going to bed.
I put on this song by Nina Simone.
“I Get Along Without You Very Well (Except Sometimes)” by Nina Simone
I think it’s worth a listen and is even better than the original by Hoagy Carmichael.
Not just because she’s a fellow bipolar artist ;)
I get along without you very well
Of course, I do
Except when soft rains fall
And drip from leaves then I recall
The thrill of being sheltered
In your arms
Of course, I do
But I get along without you very well
I've forgotten you
Just like I said I would
Of course, I have
Or maybe except when I hear your name
Someone's laugh that's just the same
I've forgotten you just like
I should
What a guy
What a fool am I
To think my aching heart
Could keep the moon
What's in store
Should I phone once more
No, no, no, no, no
It's best that I stick to my tune
I said that I get along
Without you very well
Of course, I do
Except perhaps in spring
But then I should never
Ever think of spring
For that would
Surely break my heart in two
And I had some tears.
I then shuffled my Liked Songs playlist and got this synchronicity:
“Let Her Dance” by The Bobby Fuller Four
Which I always thought was about Bobby letting his girl dance with whomever she wanted but knowing she’d come back to him.
But it’s actually much more sad and hostile.
Well, there she goes with a brand new love affair
Dancing with him like she don't even care
Well, let her dance with him
Let her dance all night long
Well, who would've known that just yesterday
She danced with me the very same way
Well, let her dance with him
Let her dance all night long
Well, let her dance with him all night long
Let her dance to our favorite song
Well, let her dance with him
Let her dance all night long
Well, I'll find me a new love
And then she'll see
Someone else will be dancing with me
Then let her dance with him
Let her dance all night long
The tears really came down then.
Because my soon-to-be-ex-wife told me she was dating a Sagittarius Sun.
And I had just learned that she was a Sagittarius Moon.
And that you’re supposed to date your Moon.
And I of course had a Virgo Moon.
Or as Nina sings:
“What a fool am I
To think my aching heart
Could keep the moon”
Okay, that’s the sixty-first Shuffle Synchronicities.
