As many of you know, I’ve been working on a video version of Shuffle Synchronicities that popularizes the practice by having musicians ask questions of their own music.
I’m happy to report that I booked six musicians for this Thursday, 4/24!
And we’re calling it Ask The Music!
I made an Instagram post celebrating it.
Proclaiming it a carousel manifesto.
With the logo.
And these slides…
Then I shuffled and got out of 122,856 songs.
No joke/no lie…
Kenny Gray’s "Robot Girlfriend"
@k3nnygray you might remember
was the first guest on the informal pilot
before these more formal pilots ;)
Which feels like quite an answer
from the music
to. Keep. GOING.
Today though
and in general
it’s been challenging.
I’ve been thinking of that adage
You can’t have
both
comfort and growth.
I shuffled again and got:
Zapp’s “So Ruff, so Tuff”
With lyrics like…
So ruff, so tuff
Out here baby (whoa)
So ruff, so tuff
Let me tell you people
Let me tell you now
But also…
Forget about ya troubles (just get on down)
Forget about ya troubles (get, get, get on)
It made me think of another adage
Forget about your troubles
Just get on with it
If you’re reading this and doing something of your own…
Shuffle your songs.
Ask the music for some guidance about it.
See what answers come.
Maybe you’ll find that something greater is inspiring you too…
Even when it’s hard.
With love,
Dave
